India is the most incredible country and is culturally diverse country. India has different types of cultures, climates and people which makes it a very popular tourist destination. The Taj Mahal and the beaches of Goa (and their likes) attract a huge number of visitors each year. There are some few hidden gems (amazing off beat destinations) which are equally awesome.

Off-beat destinations in India, that you should not miss.

1) The Queen of the hills – Darjeeling

Darjeeling is a small town in the state of West Bengal. It is a beautiful hill station known for its lush greenery, the tea plantations that stretch across the higher plateaus and its breathtaking landscapes.

2) Udaipur, Rajasthan

Udaipur is synonymous with luxury in India. It is popularly known as the Venice of the east, this city is the destination for romance literally as it is the wedding destination.

3) The islands of Diu & Daman

Diu is a perfect getaway to unwind on the beaches. It is connected to the coast of Gujarat by a bridge. Although in Daman alcohol is prohibited but Diu thrives on the revenues from the liquor industry. Daman is the place to explore and Diu the place to have some fun on the beach.

4) Coorg

Coorg is known as the Scotland of India. The beautiful hills in shades of brown and green, the tea plantations and the orange estates make this place so soothing.

5) Kovalam

Kovalam is a tiny town that has something for every kind of a traveler. There are also Ayurvedic spas to make you feel rejuvenated, and attractions like the light house beach close by.

6) Pondicherry

Pondicherry is the largest French colony in India. Much of the local people speak French and other local Indian languages. You should definitely take accommodation right by the beach for the perfect experience.
